The Years

The Years is a personal narrative of the period 1941–2006 told through the lens of memory, impressions, photographs and history. Written in the third person, it is a collective autobiography of the author's generation in post-war France. Annie Ernaux's masterpiece won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2022.
