The Last Question

A science fiction short story by Isaac Asimov, first published in 1956. It deals with the theme of entropy and the ultimate fate of the universe, following the repeated question asked to a supercomputer over trillions of years: 'How can the net amount of entropy of the universe be massively decreased?'
