The Muqaddimah: An Introduction to History

The Muqaddimah, often translated as 'Introduction' or 'Prolegomena', is a monumental work written by the Arab historian Ibn Khaldun in 1377. It presents an early view of universal history, introducing concepts like social cohesion (asabiyyah), the rise and fall of civilizations, and the philosophy of history. It is considered a founding work of historiography, sociology, and economics.
